In the morning, we set out from downtown Shanghai. After enjoying the scenery along the way, we arrived at Changxing Island Country Park. The park is characterized by nature, ecology, and rustic charm. It is positioned as an ecological conservation country park in the outer suburbs of Shanghai. With such high-quality ecological resources as the fir forest, the orange orchard, and the farmland, it is committed to creating a wild ecological environment for visitors to experience a natural pastoral life with unique hotel facilities, and fashionable sports and fitness projects. There are five areas in the park, including the comprehensive service area, the cultural and sports area, the farming experience area, the citrus garden, and the forest conservation area.

Strolling around the park, you can first visit two pavilions, the Coral Pavilion and the Ancient Stone and Wood Pavilion. The Coral Pavilion is the most distinctive exhibition hall of coral biota in Shanghai, with thousands of species. There are many interesting projects for you to learn knowledge about coral and the ocean, and feel the colorful and gorgeous beauty of the coral world.

Each piece of the exhibits in the Ancient Stone and Wood Pavilion is carefully designed and purely handmade according to the characteristics of each piece of wood. Therefore, its individuality adds to its artistic value as a piece of ancient wood furniture, which is pursued by art lovers.

After you visit the pavilions, it's time for lunch. If you are a party lover and like cooking by yourself, the barbecue under the forest in the park is perfect for you. You can rent a stove and choose some fresh ingredients for the lunch. Those who take their children with them can also go to the children's playground next to the barbecue area.

Afternoon

Visit other scenic spots in the park and the No. 1 beach of the Yangtze River

After the barbecue, you can visit other scenic spots in the park, such as the Dreamy Flower Sea, the Huaxi Valley, the Sunshine Lawn, the Water Garden, the Farm Vegetable Garden, the Fruit World, the Flower Base of Shanghai Botanical Garden, the Lemon Garden, the Orange Culture Exhibition Area, John Posthouse, Changdao Manor, Qianxiaoju Creative Farm, Weizhi Equestrian Club, and other projects.

At dusk, you can go to the No. 1 beach of the Yangtze River to enjoy the beautiful scenery at sunset. There is an 1800-meter-long riverside footpath, where you can see the sunrise in the east and the sunset in the west. The river flows eastward, where hundreds of boats compete for the flow. The place where you can get close contact with the mother river, the Yangtze River, is worth visiting.

Dinner at Zhiqing Canteen

Stay at Qianwei 1966 Hotel

After enjoying the river scenery in a good mood, let’s go to Qianwei 1966 Hotel for a good rest, before coming to the Zhiqing Canteen of the hotel to have a delicious dinner. The canteen completely replicates the cultural atmosphere of the Zhiqing times and makes you feel as if you were back in that era with the old memories. After breakfast in the hotel, we set out to the mysterious and magnificent Jiangnan Shipyard, which is the new business card of Chongming's industrial tourism. Recently, the expert group of the Shanghai Industrial Tourist Attraction Service Quality Assessment Committee came to Changxing Island to check and accept the service quality of the industrial tourist attraction of Jiangnan Shipyard Group. Through listening to reports, on-site experience, document reviewing and other procedures, the expert group appraised the product design, tourism service, information service, tourism facilities, basic environment, comprehensive management, and other aspects according to the detailed requirements for industrial tourism as qualified, making it another industrial tourist attraction in Chongming.

Jiangnan Shipyard Group, formerly known as Jiangnan General Machinery Manufacturing Bureau founded in the Qing Dynasty in 1865, is the birthplace of Chinese industry, the largest modern shipbuilding base in China with the most advanced facilities and the most extensive varieties of production, and also a national super-large backbone enterprise and a national key military enterprise. At Jiangnan Shipyard, visitors can deeply understand the advanced manufacturing level of China's shipbuilding industry and feel the new strength of modern shipbuilding by watching promotional videos and visiting the Jiangnan Shipbuilding Exhibition Hall, the digital laboratories, and the civil product production sites.Industrial tourism will focus on research and education for the young people to stimulate their national pride, sense of mission, and patriotism toward "Made in China". It aims to create a new tourism product integrating sightseeing, popular science education, and entertainment experience, and add a new name card for Chongming tourism.

After visiting the Jiangnan Shipyard, you can go to the Farm Canteen in the park and have a delicious local meal on Chongming Island. The main products of the Canteen are the farmhouse dishes of Jiangsu Province, Zhejiang Province, and Shanghai and the local dishes in Chongming. Seasonal vegetables are picked from the farming experience area in the park. Chickens, ducks, and geese are from the citrus garden, and fish and shrimp are from the Yangtze River. All the ingredients are green and healthy. If you lived in the countryside when you were a child, you can find your memories here.
