Chongming Academy, a place dedicated to Confucius and a local school run by the government in the old days, is one of the only three complete Confucius temples in Shanghai today. At Chongming Academy, there are buildings including palaces, halls, memorial temples, and pavilions with superb architectural art. It is a well-preserved architecture in the Ming and Qing dynasties. Chongming Island History and Ancient Ship Exhibition, Chongming Folk Custom Exhibition, and a temporary exhibition are held here to introduce the long history and cultural heritage of Chongming.

Shou'an Temple is one of the four ancient temples on Chongming Island. Founded in the second year of Chunyou in the Song Dynasty (942 A.D.), it has a history of more than 700 years and is the oldest ancient temple on Chongming Island. There are inscriptions on steles and calligraphy of literati and poets in the temple. On the birthday of Buddha, the temple is filled with joss sticks and red candles, attracting numerous pilgrims and tourists. Listen to the Buddha's voice, and you will understand Zen and the mystery of the sutra.

Jinxiu Hotel is located in the central area of Chongming District. It is distributed in the style of garden villas full of flowers and trees. In the farm canteen in Changxing Island Country Park, the food served is mainly farmhouse dishes and local dishes from Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Shanghai.
