Midsummer is the blooming period for lotuses. In the warm breeze, the first wave of lotus flowers quietly bloomed in Lotus Expo Park in Lvhua Town, bringing a touch of freshness and beauty to the summer.

Recently, in the lotus pond of Lotus Expo Park, buds have just bloomed amidst green leaves. The combination of pink and green looks quite elegant. As the breeze blew, the pink flowers sway gently with refreshing fragrance, attracting many tourists to have a stroll and take pictures.

“I like lotus flowers very much. I want to take pictures of lotus flowers in different postures. This place makes me feel very comfortable.” said a citizen surnamed Shi.

It is understood that there are more than 800 kinds of lotus in Lotus Expo Park, such as Xiaowufei, Taobai, and Chunxiao, etc. They have red, pink, white, yellow, and complex colors. The flowering period is generally in mid-to-late June, and the peak period lasts from July to August. Different varieties have different opening periods. The viewing period lasts until late September.

According to the staff of the Lotus Expo Park, the lotus planting mode has been adjusted in the park this year. A small quantity of crayfish was put into the lotus pond when planting lotus flowers. Lotus flowers can release oxygen into the water, providing a comfortable growth environment for crayfish. The excrement of crayfish can serve as fertilizer for lotus flowers, making them grow more luxuriantly.
