Intoxicating Cycling Route in Western Chongming

The whole journey is 28 kilometers. Depart from the north gate of Pearl Lake → Sanhua Highway → Honghai Highway (Haitang Huaxi) → Annan Road → Fangjiahuan Road → West Fangjia Road → Yongzhong Road (cycling near the lake) → Haidong Road → Xingshuo Road (farm scenery) → Beiyan Highway → Ruihua Orchard (the first wisteria corridor in East China) → Beiyan Highway → Cangfanggang Road → Sanhua Highway → North Gate of Peral Lake

Amusement activities: enjoy the scenery along the road, view begonia at Haitang Huaxi and wisteria in Ruihua Orchard, pick strawberries, and play in the Pearl Lake Park

Cycling time: about 4~4.5 hours for flower-viewing in the rural area

Lunch: bring your food for a picnic

Morning

Gather at the north gate of Pearl Lake Park in the early morning, and go west along the Sanhua Highway to Honghai Highway. Stop at Begonia Town and take some photos and have a rest. Feel the quiet beauty of the sea of pink flowers of the 100,000 begonia seedlings of more than 60 varieties in the 5,000-mu Begonia Corridor.

Take a break and continue to ride westward. Chongming in April is suitable for cycling. Flowers are everywhere along the road, making the cycling journey romantic and beautiful. The countryside, where there are rural footpaths and alleys, is in the most beautiful season of the year, with pink peach blossoms and green willow trees, fragrant flowers, and endless fun. You can ride along the lake near Yongzhong Road. When you look at the calm lake and see birds passing by occasionally, your mood and mind will become bright and clear.

Continue to the west, you will reach the second stop Xinhai Farm to enjoy the beautiful scenery on the farm. Find an open lawn, pick up your food, and start a delicious picnic to embrace nature.

Afternoon

Take a rest after a full meal, ride along the most beautiful Beiyan Highway to Ruihua Orchard, and pass through the First Wisteria Corridor in East China that stretches for 2.5 kilometers. Clusters of dense wisteria flowers hang down and gather together. Wandering in the wisteria corridor, you will find the breeze mixed with the scent of wisteria flowers. Walking under the flowers, you will feel like being kissed secretly as the flowers gently caress your forehead.

After feasting your eyes, you can come to the strawberry picking area in Ruihua Orchard to feast your mouth. The season of strawberry picking will end soon. So, come here to experience the fun.

After enjoying the sweetness on the tip of your tongue, you can continue to ride along the Beiyan Highway to enjoy the beautiful countryside before returning to Pearl Lake Park. If you are still energetic, you can join in some water entertainment activities in the park and see the beautiful lake scenery in the sunset before returning home.
