Top cyclists gear up for 2025 Yangtze River Delta road cycling race

The 2025 Tour of Chongming Island — UCI Women's WorldTour will take place from Oct 14 to 16 in Chongming district, bringing together top female cyclists from around the globe to compete for the highest honors. In conjunction with the main event, registration has opened for the 2025 Yangtze River Delta road cycling elite race, promising an exciting opportunity for cycling enthusiasts to showcase their skills.

Race route

  • Start/Finish: Chongming Xincheng Park

  • Distance: 108.6 kilometers

Eligibility

  • Number of participants: 120

  • Teams: The competition will feature 20 domestic club teams, formed by provincial and municipal cycling associations, clubs, and enthusiastic amateurs. Each team is allowed to register one team leader/coach and six athletes. Cycling enthusiasts of all nationalities are encouraged to participate. International participants are required to present their original passports and provide a copy at the time of registration.

Registration information

  • Registration fee: 600 yuan ($83.53) per team, with specially invited club teams eligible for a refund of the registration fee upon completing the race.

  • Registration deadline: Sept 20

  • Post-registration benefits: All participants will enter a lucky draw with guaranteed prizes, including bicycle helmets, cycling glasses, and gloves.

Qualification review

Registration involves a review of the participant's cycling capability. Athletes must submit proof of performance, and registration is confirmed upon approval.

Acceptable proof of performance:

  • Race results from 2024 to 2025

  • Cycling data from cycling apps

Specific rules

The course features checkpoints roughly every 25 km, with a cutoff time calculated at a speed of 35 km/h. Participants who exceed the cutoff time must board the sweep vehicle. Specific cutoff times will be announced closer to the event.

The race will take place on closed roads, and participants are prohibited from entering non-designated areas. Those unable to continue due to mechanical failure or other reasons must promptly remove their bicycles from the course to avoid disrupting the race.
