As temperatures plummeted recently, the wintersweet blossoms in Yingzhou Park reached their peak bloom. The crystal-clear flowers stood proudly on the branches, basking in the warm winter sun, adding a splash of vibrant color and enchanting fragrance to the cold season.

The wintersweet trees are mainly located on the south side of Chenhu Lake and the southwest side of the park's large lawn. In the harsh winter, these resilient flowers cover the branches with their tender yellow buds. The petals, with a waxy texture, exude a cold, delicate fragrance, and their vigorous vitality bursts forth from the full blossoms.

It is reported that Yingzhou Park has over 50 wintersweet trees, primarily of the Chimonanthus praecox and Daphne × burkwoodii varieties. The Chimonanthus praecox wintersweet has long, oval petals that curl backward, with pale yellow petals and a white center, emitting a strong fragrance. The  Daphne × burkwoodii variety has smaller flowers with pale yellow outer layers and purple stripes hidden inside, offering a relatively mild scent.
