From July 27th to 28th, the Taiwan 96 Cycling League "Island Cycling Encounters You and Me Together" was successfully held in Chongming, Shanghai.

About 130 young cyclists from Taiwan and Shanghai gathered in Chongming to use cycling as a bond to enhance understanding through competition, establish friendship through exchanges, and jointly write the youth story of "cross-strait people are one family".

At the opening ceremony, district leaders and guests blew the whistle for the event and started the honorary cycling event together, kicking off this cross-strait cycling event.

As the competition kicked off, cyclists rushed into the track. They chased each other throughout the process, overtaking skillfully at the corners and sprinting with all their strength, which fully demonstrated the speed and passion of cycling.

This event has three categories: U15, U17, and U23. It is divided into two competition days: individual time trial and individual criterium race.

The track is a loop laid out along Lanhai Road and Lanhai East Road in Chenjia Town. The start and end points are located at the intersection of Lanhai East Road and Renpu Road, passing through Chongwang Road, Dongou Road, Chongyuan Road and other intersections, with a single lap mileage of 7 kilometers.

On July 28, with the conclusion of the individual criterium race, the event came to a successful conclusion. At the award ceremony, the winners of each category took the stage to receive their honors, bringing a successful conclusion to this cycling event that enhances cross-strait exchanges.

This is the first time the Taiwan 96 Cycling League has held a cycling competition on the Chinese mainland. The event leverages cycling as a link to build a high-quality platform for sports exchanges and interconnection for young people on both sides of the Taiwan Strait. It allows everyone to compete on the same field to learn skills, enhance understanding, deepen friendship, and further promote cross-Strait cultural and sports interoperability and people-to-people integration.
