Inside the greenhouses of the planting base, lush potted narcissuses were neatly arranged, with flourishing green leaves and full of vitality. Flower farmers were busy selecting suitable narcissus bulbs for potting. They were skillful and could pot a narcissus in just a few minutes. "Auspicious and As You Wish," "Health in Eight Festivals," "Happiness, Longevity and Celebration"... Each model of potted narcissus has a pleasant and auspicious name.

It is reported that the narcissuses in the base are growing well this year, and the expected output will increase significantly compared with last year. "Our total output last year was more than 5,000 pots, and this year it is estimated to double on the basis of last year, reaching more than 10,000 pots. The planting area has also increased greatly compared with last year, reaching more than 50 mu," said Chen Shunfa, head of Shanghai Xiangxin Flower Agricultural Development Co Ltd.

In another greenhouse, flower farmers were holding hoses to water the potted narcissuses. These potted narcissuses will stay in the base for a while, and after being cared for until they grow flower buds, they will enter the market. If there is a situation where only green leaves grow and no flower buds appear, they will be removed and replaced to ensure that consumers can simply take care of them after buying them.

Chongming narcissus is easy to care for. The base has treated the bulbs, and the narcissus is already in a state of budding. After that, it only needs six hours of sunshine a day and water added every three or four days. Depending on the environmental temperature, the potted narcissus flowers can bloom 10 to 20 days after being bought home by citizens, and can be placed indoors after flowering. In addition, the characteristic of Chongming narcissus is that they are all double-petal narcissus, and beautiful flowers can be bloomed without carving.
