Recently, at the Huikang Base of Chongming Hairy Crab Group located in Baozhen, staff are rushing to feed and oxygenate the crab ponds to help the crabs accumulate nutrients. "The crabs raised in Chongming 15 years ago were called 'black small crabs,' and their overall size was not large. In recent years, we have developed Chongming No.1 as a fine breed for cultivation, and the general size has reached more than 200 grams for females and 250 grams for males, with a significant improvement in overall quality and market competitiveness compared to the past," said Gu Liubin, the person in charge of Huikang Base.

As a characteristic seed source of Chongming hairy crabs, Chongming No.1 has significant advantages in size, quality, and yield, and its coverage rate in Chongming is continuously increasing. The Chongming Hairy Crab Group has developed advanced breeding techniques to match it, such as greenhouse crab breeding and full pond bottom oxygenation, and has popularized water quality monitoring and tailwater management techniques to promote the sustainable and high-quality development of the hairy crab industry.

With the support of high-standard vegetable fields, vegetable production in Chongming is also breaking through seasonal restrictions. At the Shanghai Fanxin Agricultural Planting Cooperative located in Gangxi Town, mechanized seeding operations are in full swing. "I have been in Chongming for 10 years, and during this period, I have felt that Chongming's improvement in facility vegetable fields and mechanization has been very fast. The greenhouse automation is also very advanced, including watering and irrigation, and the opening and lifting of skylights can be controlled by mobile phones. In addition, our current agricultural machinery equipment is quite complete, and the degree of mechanization is increasing day by day," Dai Daobao, the technical person in charge of Fanxin Cooperative, told the reporter.

At present, with the support of the district's agricultural department, the construction of high-standard farmland and high-standard vegetable fields is continuously advancing, laying a solid foundation for Chongming to create a modern and large-scale agricultural production model. Relying on the 200 mu of connected facility greenhouses that have been built, the efficiency and product quality of Fanxin Cooperative's vegetable production are continuously improving. In addition, the district's vegetable station has also established a professional tissue culture laboratory at Fanxin Cooperative, focusing on characteristic vegetable varieties such as Chongming fragrant crisp taro and red-skinned potatoes, continuously promoting the protection, trial cultivation, and development of vegetable seed sources, and enhancing the added value level of the vegetable industry.

On the 10,000 mu of fertile fields, large harvesters advance in unison, and the granaries are full of rice; inside the modern sheep farms, "sheep face recognition" gives modern animal husbandry the wings of wisdom.
