At the turn of summer and autumn, the wind carries the fragrance of rice flowers. Currently, a large-scale rice field art painting covering nearly 50 mu in Xinzhong Village, Xincun Township, has taken shape and is now in its viewing period, attracting many tourists to visit and take photos.

Climbing up to the rice viewing platform within the rice field, one can overlook from above and take in the colorful canvas that spans dozens of mu. The colorful rice field art painting vividly depicts the pastoral scenery of Xincun Township, with representative mascots such as the "Rice Baby" and elk adding a touch of liveliness and vitality to the artwork. Slogans like "Life moves slowly, and living is very pastoral," and "Rural revitalization requires both shaping and soul-casting" are also prominently displayed.

The rice field art painting in Xincun Township began in 2019 and is one of the cultural carriers for the construction of the "Rice Culture Town." This year, Xincun Township fully implemented the concept that "Agricultural civilization is our soft power," pursuing the empowerment of rural revitalization with culture and the integration of philosophy into earth art. They have closely collaborated with teachers and students from the Philosophy Department of Fudan University to meticulously design and create a new philosophical landscape of colorful rice fields.

This year's rice field art painting is led by the golden phrase "Rural revitalization requires both shaping and soul-casting," with the theme "Every grain of rice has its own soul," symmetrically echoing on the left and right, prominently displayed in the east and west distributed colorful rice fields.

On the right side, the philosophical golden phrase "Golden rice panicles, humble as a valley" is written, using the actual scene of rice panicles bowing down after the rice matures and is harvested to extend the beautiful virtue of humility and modesty, cleverly combining rice culture with life philosophy. The short sentence "Life moves slowly, and living is very pastoral" on the west side, southward, integrates the attitude of life with the pastoral scenery, interpreting the leisurely contentment of rural life.

In October, Xincun Township will continue to work closely with the Philosophy Department of Fudan University to bring a "Colorful Rice Field" philosophy outdoor class, truly writing philosophical theories and thinking in a tangible way on the land, making the "Colorful Rice Field" area richer in philosophical characteristics.

The rice field art painting is not only a vivid expression of rural aesthetic economy but also a bright business card for Chongming to achieve rural revitalization. Currently, the rice field art painting has entered its best viewing period. From August to October, tourists only need to climb up to the viewing platform in the fields to enjoy the magnificent scenery of the rice fields.
