Intangible Cultural Heritage Tour Brings Traditional Culture to Life

Recently, Chongming District Intangible Cultural Heritage Exhibition Concert Tour reached the Miaozhen Community Cultural Activity Center, bringing an audio-visual feast of intangible cultural heritage to citizens.
The concert began with a melodious Jiangnan Sizhu music Welcoming Song. Then, Yingzhou ancient tunes The Little Moon High Above, Little Silver Spear, Lion Rolling Ball, Shanghai opera acappella On the Way Home and other programs were performed in turn. The audiences were immersed in the wonderful music and applauded enthusiastically.
The concert combined national and Chongming intangible cultural heritage projects such as Jiangnan Sizhu music, Yingzhou pipa ancient tune, and Shanghai opera. It was performed by Yingzhou Sizhu Orchestra of Shanghai Yanggang Folk Music Museum, Yingzhou Jiangnan Sizhu Combination of China Conservatory of Music, as well as well-known Shanghai opera and Yue opera actors. It allowed citizens to experience the charm of intangible cultural heritage culture up close. “The tone of Yingzhou ancient tune is delicate and soft. The melody is gentle and beautiful. It is really wonderful. Chongming’s pipa music is extraordinary.” A citizen who watched the performance told reporters.
It is reported that this year’s intangible cultural heritage concert has 6 performances in total. Currently, the tour has reached five towns and the last performance will be held in mid-October. The organizers said that they hope to promote the dissemination and inheritance of intangible cultural heritage through the concert tour, help more people learn about intangible cultural heritage, and make traditional culture more attractive and popular.
