Recently, the first organizing committee meeting of the FIBA 3x3 World Tour 2024 (Shanghai Chongming Station) was held at Qianwei Industrial Company in Changxing Town, Chongming District, announcing that FIBA 3x3 World Tour 2024 (Shanghai Chongming Station) will be held in Changxing Town from September 21 to 22. A total of 14 teams from all over the world will participate in the event.

FIBA 3x3 World Tour is the highest international A-level event in the 3x3 basketball tournament worldwide. In 2024, four stations in the Chinese mainland, namely Sichuan Chengdu, Shanghai Chongming, Jiangsu Wuxi, and Guangdong Shenzhen, are to host the event. It’s a grand event that showcases the world’s top basketball level and promotes efforts to build Shanghai into a world-renowned sports city.

Last year, the FIBA 3x3 World Tour was held in Shanghai Chongming for the first time, and received a warm response. By hosting international events, Chongming also made a new presence in the world, allowing more people to know its unique ecological environment and experience the unique charm of integrating sports, leisure and nature.

As the venue for this competition, Chongming Changxing Island has always been committed to building “the world’s advanced marine equipment island, Shanghai’s ecological water source island and unique landscape tourism island”. Changxing Island was chosen as the venue for FIBA 3x3 World Tour to better integrate the development of international top events with the top international marine equipment construction base, and integrate the sports spirit - “Faster, Higher, Stronger” into the construction of Chongming Eco-island.

Shanghai Chongming “Martyrs Cup” Basketball Competition is one of the few traditional mass events in China and has cultivated a large number of basketball sports talents.
