A geographical indication certification trademark of "Chongming Rice", a high-quality agri-product of Chongming, has been registered at the end of 2019. In order to promote the standardized use of geographical indications and improve the scope of the authorized use of "Chongming Rice", the Chongming Rice Industry Association held a special training meeting a few days ago.

 

On the same day, more than 50 member units of the association participated in the training. At the training meeting, the relevant staff of Chongming District Market Supervision Bureau explained in detail the group standard of "Product of Geographical Indication: Chongming Rice", the application and use process of "Chongming Rice" geographical indication certification trademark license, the precautions for the use of geographical indications, and the requirements for planting, marketing, and the production and processing of "Chongming Rice" in 2023.

 

It is learned from the training meeting that at present, only 18 cooperatives in the district have been authorized to use the geographical indication of "Chongming Rice". With the gradual increase of the recognition of "Chongming Rice" in the minds of consumers, the target consumers have also increased year by year, and the phenomenon of infringement and counterfeiting in the market has also occurred from time to time. To improve the scope of use of the geographical indication of "Chongming Rice" and let the truly high-quality "Chongming Rice" enter the broader market is what the Chongming Rice Industry Association has been trying to do for many years.
