Recently, the 2021 Meeting and Member Representative Meeting of China Agricultural Green Development Research Association were held in Beijing. The Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences and China Agricultural Green Development Research Association jointly released the "China Agricultural Green Development Report 2020" at the meeting, listing the top 40 leading areas of the annual agricultural green development index, of which the index score of Chongming leading area is 90.01, ranking first in the index score of agricultural green development for two consecutive years, and the agricultural green development is at the national leading level.

Since 2017, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Areas and other eight ministries and commissions have jointly carried out the identification of the national leading agricultural green development zone. Chongming, as the first leading demonstration area of agricultural green development in Shanghai in the earliest batch nationwide, has been included in the report on agricultural green development as a typical example for three consecutive years.

In recent years, Chongming has adhered to the idea of Xi Jinping's ecological civilization as the guide, has constantly consolidated and upgrade the concept of green development of agriculture, has vigorously promoted the green production mode of agriculture, has highlighted the direction of green management and control to implement the closed control of green pesticides, to innovate the establishment of a green pesticide control system in conformity to the standards of the world-class ecological island of Chongming and to further promote the development of Chongming’s green agriculture.
