Currently, the Trade & Economy Commission of Chongming District (the Commission) in cooperation with units including Xincun County, Miao Town, Chenjia Town, Chengqiao Town and Lvhua Town has held series activity themed with "Energy Conservation and Declining Carbon Discharge for Green Development" at the rice culture hall of Xincun County.

On the scene, everyone knew the significance of carbon peak and carbon neutrality by means including the specific lecture on energy saving and environmental protection and the contest on energy-saving knowledge.

It is reported that this year marks the 31st National Energy Conservation Week (the Week) with the theme of "Energy Conservation and Declining Carbon Discharge for Green Development" this time. In order to do a good job in the series activities of the Week, the Commission adopted "online plus offline" dual model and intensively publicize energy conservation through "One Knowledge Competition, One Low-carbon Day Activity and One Online Q&A".

The National Low-carbon Day falls on August 25. The Commission worked with units, say, the Ecological Environment Bureau of Chongming District, the Development and Reform Commission of Chongming District and Chengqiao Town, and carried out "National Low-carbon Day" publicity activity at Baodao Century Park Plaza, Chengqiao Town. At the site of the activity, the brochures on saving energy and banning plastics to guide residents to fulfill low-carbon idea and to participate in the action of reducing carbon discharge. Additionally, the Commission also organized all the governmental staff to actively take part in online Q&A activity about energy conservation knowledge so as to encourage everyone to be an advocator, a practitioner and a demonstrator in low-carbon life.
